On the heels of Tecno L7 comes another 5-incher by Tecno, named Tecno L6. When we first heard of the product, what first came to mind was that it’s a mini version of the Tecno L7. But to some extent we were wrong — it’s also sports a 5-inch display, just like the L7.

But we were also right to some extent. Read this review post to the end to discover more for yourself about the new Tecno L6 device.

Design

If we were to describe the look of the Tecno L6 in just one word, we’d say “classy”. The device really looks more premium than one would expect for a mid-range smartphone.

The L6 looks a bit different from most of its predecessors, as it deviates slightly in terms of design. As expected, most of the front surface houses the large display with the in-call speaker and TECNO logo at the top, and the capacitive control buttons below.

Display

The Tecno L6 sports a 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display, which shows pictures to the minute details. If you’re a photo, video, or gaming freak, this display will gladden your heart each time you stare at it.

OS and performance

The Tecno L6 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It packs 1GB of RAM with 8GB on internal storage. With an impressive processor and GPU under its hood, the device promises speedy handling of heavy games and apps. So, if you’re a gaming addict, you’ll enjoy this device.

The Tecno L6 also comes with an intelligent QuickStart function that allows you to run an application directly from the home screen without having to navigate or scroll away.

Camera

As expected, the Tecno L6 flaunts two cameras. The primary rear-facing camera has a resolution of 8MP, while the secondary, front-facing camera has a 2MP resolution. Both cameras produce great outputs. And if you’re a selfie addict, you have a complete toolkit in this device.

Battery

Once again Tecno has proved that they can make good smartphones that actually compete with all the big brands. If you still compare Tecno phones to the counterfeit no-name brands, the Tecno H7 will vaporise all your skepticism.

Tecno H3 is a low-end phone with the notable Android OS and a good battery spec that enables it to deliver within expectation.  One can comfortably execute the regular smart phone tasks, allied functions and entertainment with the Tecno H3.

Design

Tecno H3 is conventional, simple, handy and beautiful in its design.  The phone is comfortable to hold.  It is a phone that can be unobtrusively carried about.  In a plastic casing, the Tecno H3 measures 113 x 62.2 x 11.7mm and is available in white, black, yellow, gray and pink colours.

Display

A simple 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320p x 480p or a pixel density of 165 ppi renders the display of the Tecno H3.

OS, Processor and Memory

A big plus for the Tecno H3 is that it runs on the popular Android OS using version 4.4 (KitKat).  The phone is powered by a 1.0 GHz dual core Mediatek MT6575M processor and has a RAM of 512MB.  With this configuration, there is a limitation to the number of apps and games which the device can support at a time.  This is in spite of accessibility to loads of apps available through the Android OS.  This is not unexpected for the class of the Tecno H3.  However, Facebook, WhatsApp, BBM, Palmchat, Google Play, Gmail, Google Maps and Flash Share run quite well on the phone.

Internal memory is 4GB with provision for microSD of up to 32GB.

Camera

The Tecno H3 is not small in the battery department.  It is equipped with a large capacity 2000mAh Li-po battery which enables a long battery operation time.  This means that a user can enjoy the phone uninterrupted for much longer time than would have been the case if a smaller capacity battery which is usual for phones in the Tecno H3 class was used.
